Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Bertie Henson (Died February 27, 2011) Bertie Henson Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie Henson held on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 11:00a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Rev. Alan Van Hooser officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Mrs. Henson passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Magnified Health & Rehab Center in College Station. She was born in Ervinsville, Georgia, grew up in Florida, but lived most of her life in Texas including almost seventy years in Teague. Mrs. Henson loved to sew, make stuffed animals, and do quilting projects. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star as long as her health allowed and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Teague. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Fick & husband Donald of Franklin; two sons, Charles Henson & wife Cathy of Waco and Gary Henson & wife Linda of Memphis, TN; two step-sons, Joel Henson, Jr. & wife Margie of Teague and Robert Henson & wife Lucy of Los Alamos, NM; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Henson, Sr.; two sons, Wayne Henson and James Marvin Henson; one stepson, Ross Henson; and one step- daughter, Florine Corley.
