Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle March 20, 2008 Issue FRANKIE LYNNE GARRETT HIGH Funeral services for Mrs. Frankie Lynne Garrett High were held on Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Pastor Bertrain Bailey was the Officiating Minister and Eulogist. Interment followed the service at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. High was born to the union of Lavell and Jean Odell-Hoyt Garrett on August 13, 1947, in San Augustine, Texas. She graduated from Norwood High School in San Augustine, Texas. Frankie obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from Texas Southern University to become a registered Pharmacist. She met and married Billy Roy High on November 3, 1972, and to this union two children were born, Traci Lynne High and Billy Roy High, Jr. As a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Frankie served as a Deaconess on “Board C” and was a member of the Truthseekers Sunday School Class. She also sang in the choir. Mrs. High was preceded in death by her darling husband Billy Roy High, Sr., her father Lavell Garrett, her mother Jean Odell-Hoyt and rearing mother Mrs. Irene G. Hunter. Mrs. High is survived by her daughter Traci Lynne Ward and husband Glenn; her son Billy Roy High, Jr., veteran of the United States Navy and student at Mountain View College; her grandbabies Gianna Lynne Ward and Master Ryan Nichols Ward; her sister Brenda Carol Lewis; her brothers-in-law John Carter and wife Katie of Teague and Arthur Busby, Jr. and wife Ann of Dallas; her special aunt and uncle Cleo and Mary Phillips of Spencer, Oklahoma; her special sister-in-law Portia Lindsey of Teague. Pallbearers for Mrs. High were Curtis G. Ward, Dr. Gary Garrett, Kenneth Garrett, Gregory Garrett, James A. Lindsey, Jr. and Byron Busby. Honorary pallbearers were St. John Missionary Baptist Church Deacons.
