Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 4, 2011 Clarence Henry High Sr. Clarence Henry High Sr., 71, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. James L. Collins officiating and the Rev. Anthony Thibodeaux, pastor of Fairfield officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Dew by Warford- Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Clarence was born July 26, 1939, in Freestone County. He was educated in Teague and finished school at Booker T. Washington High School. He moved to Hereford in 1954. He was formerly employed as a construction worked and junk iron handler. He was a member of Sinai Baptist Church of Hereford for more than 30 years, where he served faithfully as a deacon of the church. Survivors include three daughters, Shashina High, Teresa Jackson and Laurie Oliver, all of Amarillo; a son, Clarence High Jr. of Amarillo; a sister, Louise High of Dew; four brothers, Alfred High Sr. of Dew, Lewis High Sr. of Mexia, Willie High Sr. of Desoto and William High of Houston; an aunt, Bennie Beck of Hereford; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
