Mexia Daily News - Aug. 12, 2003 edition Ann (Jenkins) Hogan TEAGUE - Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Hogan, 72, of Freestone, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in First Baptist Church. Minister Glenn McCollum and the Rev. Darrel Beggs officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery (Freestone County), with Order of the Eastern Star burial services. Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hogan, who died Friday in Richardson, resided in Freestone for 18 years and formerly lived in League City. She worked as an office manager for H.L.&P. for 18 years before taking an early retirement. Mrs. Hogan was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as Director of the Seniors' Class and led devotionals. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star 408, having served as Worthy Matron three times and was a past-District Deputy Grand Matron in 1993-94. She had recently served as Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star 1046 in Seabrook, and had been presented with a pin for being a cancer survivor for 20 years. Mrs. Hogan was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Eugene Jenkins and Leslie (Buddy) Jenkins. The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Surviving are her husband of over 57 years, Jessie Hogan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Tom Burch of San Angelo, Yvonne and Lou Hyatt of Richardson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ione Goynes and Dorothy Jenkins, both of Pine Grove, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
