The Bryan - College Station Eagle August 17, 2001 Henry W. Hoke May 27, 1922 — Aug. 15, 2001 OLD BOWLING COMMUNITY — Services for Henry W. Hoke, 79, of the Old Bowling community of Leon County are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville. The Rev. Mike Haney will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Bowling Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Hoke died Wednesday in Centerville. He was born near Shiro in Grimes County and lived most of his life in the Old Bowling community of Leon County. He retired from Brown & Root after 37 years as superintendent. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving in World War II in the China-Burma Theater. He was a member of the Clear Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Middie Hoke of Fairfield, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Susan Hoke of Fairfield; a daughter, Lisa Botello of Centerville; a brother, Elbert Hoke of Huntsville; and four grandchildren.
