  Funeral services were held at Capps Chapel at 2 p.m. April 22 for Harry I. Hood, 
longtime resident and native of Freestone County who died April 21 after a short 
illness.  Rev. Thomas Gray pastor of First Methodist Church officiated.  
Interment was in Fairfield Cemetery.
  Mr.  Hood was born Dec. 15, 1889 in Freestone County and lived here most of 
his life.  He was retired from Humble Oil Company and was a member of the First 
United Methodist Church.
  He is survived by his wife Elvia Hood of Fairfield and other relatives and 
friends.
  Pallbearers were J.E. Lott, Ed Bonner, Otis Cain, Jack Daugherty, Rankin 
Gilpin and W.T. Brandon.  Honorary Pallbearers were C.L. Williamson, C.N. 
Williford; J.H. Keller, Hugh D. Reed, Sr., Jim Mallard, and Glen Diemart.
