Freestone County, Texas Obituaries James Thomas "Jim" Horton James Thomas "Jim" Horton, 92, of Teague passed away Friday, May 25, 2001 at Teague Nursing Home. Services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary House officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Pallbearers were Carl Whitten, J. W. Fitzgerald, James Pounders, Bill Kotzbaurer, Jerry Pruitt and Charles Horton. Honorary pallbearers were Tracy Moore, Bill Bloxom, Jerry Kirk, Luke Collet, Charles Marquart and Tommy Wheeler. Mr. Horton was born July 3, 1908 in Italy, Texas. He was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. He was preceded in death by his sons, James Melvin Horton and Thomas Earl Horton; granddaughter, Anna Lee Campbell; brother, Pratt Horton; sisters, Donnie Marquart, Lucille McLain and Ethel Wheeler; and parents, Charles and Althea Horton. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife, Edith Horton of Teague; daughter, Judy Horton Kotzbaurer and husband David of Lake Jackson; granddaughter, Edie Campbell of Lake Jackson; great-granddaughter, Allie Cates of Lake Jackson; extended family, Bill Kotzbaurer and Heidi Kotzbaurer, both of Freeport; brother, Nick Horton and wife Kathern of Corsicana; and brother-in-law, Tommy Wheeler of Corsicana.
