Huber Funeral services were held Saturday for Gregory Huber, 55, of Teague who died Thursday, Dec. 18, at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills. Mr. Huber was raised in Fort Worth and graduated in 1971 from Forth Worth Christian School. He earned his bachelors degree from Sam Houston State University and his masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University before moving to Teague in 1979. Mr. Huber was employed with Teague Independent School District as the high school girl's athletic director and head volleyball coach. He led his teams to over 200 wins and served two terms on the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 2A Volleyball Committee. Mr. Huber was selected twice as district coach of the year and won two volleyball district and bi-district championships. He had also served as a teacher, high school boy's athletic director and head football coach during his career with Teague ISD. Mr. Huber traveled frequently with his students to Washington D.C., leading tours and providing students with history about the nation's capital. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Teague with former President Bill Clinton, Steve Beaird, Revs. Robert Besser and Jeff Powers officiating. Interment followed at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville. Mr. Huber is survived by daughters, Leslie McGuire and husband Patrick of Watauga and Lauren Huber of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Madison and Olivia McGuire, both of Watauga; parents, Joe and Carolyn Huber of North Richland Hills; and companion, Debbie Hamilton of Teague. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Landrum and Lorene Colley and his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Evelyn Huber. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
