Services for Odessa Huckaby, 87, of Teague will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Avant
AME Church in Teague.

Ms. Huckaby died Friday in Dallas.

ODESSA HUCKABY


Funeral services for Ms. Odessa Huckaby, 87, of Teague, Texas, were held on
Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Avant A.M.E. Church in Teague. Rev. Joey Baggett,
Pastor and Rev. Estell McIllveen, Eulogist, conducted the services. Interment
was at Avant Cemetery in Teague, Texas.

Sister Odessa Huckaby was born on January 8, 1920, in Freestone County, Texas 
to Ervin Huckaby and Pattie Levels Huckaby. She was a member of Avant A.M.E.
Church.

Ms. Huckaby is survived by her daughters Sadie Jo Vaughn of Teague and Savanna
A. Willis of Dallas; her grandchildren Darius Darrell Willis, Derek Montel 
Vaughn, Monique Desha Vaughn, LaShonda DeAnn Willis; her great grandchildren 
Darius Darrell Willis, II, Arius Sharese Willis, Keyshaun Marquise Wells; her
niece Kaella Pelton of Fort Worth, her nephews Conary, Cleveland and Harrel 
Huckaby all of Fort Worth, Fred Leon Huckaby of Burleson, a host of great 
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Cleveland Huckaby, Sr.
and Ervin Huckaby, Jr., her nephews Rufus Huckaby, Sr. and Lacy Huckaby, her
niece Iciedale Huckaby Willis, her sisters-in-law Sarah L. and Frankie L. 
Huckaby.

Pallbearers for Ms. Huckaby were Conary Huckaby, Jr., Derek Vaughn, Rodrick 
Huckaby, Darius Willis, Sr., Rufus Huckaby, Jr., Darius Willis, II.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Henderson, bobby High, John Wesley 
Henderson, H.C. High, Billie High and James Edward High.

Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
