Jack Howell Huffman, Sr.

Funeral services were held last week for Jack Howell Huffman, Sr., 83, of Donie
who died Tuesday, March 4, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Mr. Huffman was born in Donie on Feb. 1, 1925. He graduated from Donie high 
school in 1942 and attended college at the University of Houston, where he 
earned his master's degree in engineering.

Mr. Huffman served in the United States Army, earning the rank of first 
lieutenant and worked as an engineer in Houston. He ranched cattle in Donie 
and was associated with the First Baptist and Methodist churches in Donie.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at Bowers Funeral Home in
Teague with Dave Rattan, John Goodwin, Richard Cromwell and Mark Munson 
officiating.

Internment followed at Union Cemetery near Freestone.

Mr. Huffman is survived by sons Jack Huffman, Jr. and wife Rene' of Donie and
Richard Dean Huffman of The Woodlands; son-in-law David Rattan of North 
Richland Hills; grandsons Cory Raymond Rattan of Fort Worth and Scott David 
Rattan and wife Brianna of Twentynine Palms, California.; granddaughter Loren 
Anne Huffman of The Woodlands; stepdaughters, Kathy Kefauver and husband Craig
of Houston and Margaret Blanchette and husband Phil of Manteno, Illinois; and 
brothers Troy Huffman and wife Betty of Donie, Bill Huffman and wife Glenice 
of Donie, and Bob Huffman and wife Trudy of Palestine.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years and the mother of his children,
Freda Huffman; his daughter Carrie Lynn Rattan; and his second wife Alma 
Huffman.
