Bowers Funeral Home web site Billy Glenn (Bill) Huffman (July 19, 1929 - February 19, 2012) Funeral services for Mr. Billy Glenn (Bill) Huffman were held on Friday, February 24, 2012, at 2:00p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Richard Easterling officiated. Interment followed the services at Union Cemetery near Freestone with an escort provided by the Patriot Guard and an Honor Guard from the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Huffman passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. He was born in Teague on July 19, 1929, to Jesse B. and Eva Huffman. He graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1948. Mr. Huffman served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years, reaching his retirement. His service took him to numerous destinations including Guam and France. He lived in San Antonio for much of his life and after his Air Force service he attended and graduated from South West Texas State with a B.A. in Business. Mr. Huffman sold Real Estate in the San Antonio area for several years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Optimist Club of Universal City and a Mason. Mr. Huffman returned to Freestone County and moved to Donie in 2004, and became a “regular” to play dominoes and visit at Turner Feed & Fertilizer. His family knew him as the “family historian”. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and keeping up with the San Antonio Spurs. Mr. Huffman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Donie. He is survived by his wife, Glenice Huffman of Donie; one son, David M. Huffman of Edinburg; one daughter, Mary H. Sylvester & husband Steve of Lantana; four step-sons, Danny Brooks & wife Marianne of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mike Brooks & wife Janice of Littleton, Colorado, Tommy Brooks of Boise, Idaho, and Richard Brooks & wife Sherry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Cody J. Huffman, Remy Brooks, Savannah Brooks, Jessica Brooks, Sherice Brooks, and Sherele Brooks; one brother, Bobby J. Huffman & wife Trudy of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his wife, Colletta J. Huffman and two brothers, Jack Huffman and Troy Huffman.]
