Fairfield Recorder, Fairfield Texas Friday, Jan. 2, 1925 YOUNG MAN KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT AT KIRVEN The oil news makes the following report on the fatal auto accident at kirven Monday morning. The accident occurring at the sharp turn in the road about 200 yards west of the railroad crossing. Roy Hughes, a young man 19 years of age, was instantly killed Monday morning at 2 o'clock in an automobile accident near Kirven. Hughes home was in Nacogdoches and he was on his way to Wortham in company with a man named Johnson. Hughes had never been in Wortham but had securred a job wwith Hamilton's garage. The car turned over on the T & B.V. right of way in the edge of Kirven, just where the public road crosses the railroad. The boys were unacquainted with the road and were driving rapidly when the accident occured. The car turned completely over, catching young Hughes head and badly crushing him. He was killed instantly. The car was owned by the Hamilton Garage and was badly damaged. Young Johnson, the driver of the car, wass severely bruised and cut about the face and body but not seriosly injured.
