Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mary Marie (Sikes) Ince Mary Marie Sikes Ince, 71, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at her residence. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Capps Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Ransom and Pastor Bubba Rutherford officiating. Graveside services were held 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at New Hope Cemetery near DeKalb, TX. Mrs. Ince was born May 10, 1942 in DeKalb, TX; to parents Eugene Gilbert and Pearl Idle Sikes. She had been a Fairfield resident for almost 20 years having moved from the Dallas area. She married Jonnie A. Ince on February 17, 1995. She was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church of Dew and O.E.S. Chapter 331 of Fairfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Huggins; a brother, Billy Gene Sikes; a daughter-in-law, Linda Kay Phifer; a step-son, Ricky Bray Ince and a step-grandson, Chris Phillips. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jonnie A. Ince of Fairfield; one son, Freddie W. (J.R.) Phifer, Jr. of Fairfield; one daughter, Debra G. Carlson of Fairfield; one step-son, Jonnie A. Ince of Buffalo; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Ince-Cummings and son-in-law, Gary Cummings of Fairfield; grandchildren, Jonathan Phifer and wife Caroline of Fairfield; LaCosta, Amber and Matthew Carlson, all of Fairfield; great-grandchildren, Caleigh; Kiera and Colten; numerous step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edith Granberry of Rockwall; Frances Gann of Collinsville; Eva Hill of McKinney; Melba Estes of Sherman; sister-in-law, Maudine Sikes of DeKalb; numerous nieces, nephews and their families as well as many cousins and friends from across the United States. Capps Memorial Chapel conducted funeral arrangements for the family.
