Mexia Daily News - Nov. 22, 2003 edition Nettie Ruth Blakeley James TEAGUE - Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Ruth Blakeley James, 62, of Fort Worth, will be this afternoon at 1 o'clock in Moore's Angelic Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Hunter, pastor of St. James United Methodist Church, and Dr. C.W. Gillespie, pastor of Concord Missionary Baptist Church-Fort Worth, were to officiate. Burial will be in Grove Island Cemetery. Mrs. James, who died Sunday in John Peter Smith Hospital-Fort Worth, was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Freestone County. She formerly resided in Teague and in the Furney-Richardson community. A member of Titus UMC, Mrs. James was a Health Care worker and a Licensed Beautician. She attended elementary and high schools in Furney-Richardson, and also attended Prairie View A&M University. Surviving are a daughter, Gidget LaDawn Cooper and husband Marcus of Fort Worth; her mothers - Ella Savannah Edwards of Fort Worth, and Nell Blakeley of Teague; her father, Willie D. Carter of Fort Worth; four sisters, Phyllis Jean Marshall and Hattie Mae Carter, both of Fort Worth, Celestine Jones of Teague and Christine Carter of Mexia; a stepsister, Joyce Jacobs of Houston; three brothers, Willie P. Love and wife Dorothy of Dallas, John Edward Carter and wife Katie of Teague, and Romie Lee Edwards, Jr., of Fort Worth; two aunts, Savannah Glasco and Ruby Branch, both of Teague; and a favorite cousin, Bria Stokes of DeSoto. Pallbearers are Michael Carter, James Jackson, Brandon Carter, Michael Henderson, Corey Marshall, Michael Morgan, Fred Lewis and McKenzie Jackson.
