Mattie Mae James

Funeral services were held last weekend for Mattie Mae James, 76, of Teague 
who died Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

Mrs. James was born in 1931 on Aug. 18.

Services were at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the First Baptist Church of 
North Teague with Larry Rose and E.J. Malone officiating.

Burial was at Antioch Cemetery in Teague.

Mrs. James is survived by children Brenda Tutt and husband Lonnie of Teague,
Kathleen Lindley and husband Wilmer of Lancaster, Bobby James and wife Daphne 
of Dallas, and Era James of Teague; siblings Doris Burns and husband Lonnie of 
Dallas, Alene “Tiny” Smith of Dallas, and Eugene Hall of Kilgore; 20 
grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; and 
friends Alpha Bess Dixon and Odessa Mims.

MATTIE MAE JAMES


Mrs. Mattie Mae James of Teague, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at 
Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She was 76 years old.

Funeral services for Mrs. James were held on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at First Baptist 
Church North Teague.

Pastor Larry Rose officiated and Rev. E.J. Malone was the Eulogist. Interment followed 
the service at Antioch Cemetery in Teague.

Mrs. James is survived by her children Brenda Tutt and Lonnie of Teague Kathleen 
Lindley and Wilmer of Lancaster, Bobby James and Daphne of Dallas and Era James of 
Teague; her siblings Doris Burns, Lonnie and Alene “Tiny” Smith all of Dallas and 
Eugene Hall of Kilgore; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great 
grandchildren; special friends Alpha Bess Dixon and Odessa Mims, other relatives and 
friends.

Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague is serving the James family.
