Freestone County, Texas Obits Corsicana Daily Sun newspaper - March 11, 2004 edition Ola Faye (Knight) Jamison Ola Faye Jamison Ola Faye Jamison, 86, of Roane passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Corsicana following a struggle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Rose, Jim Parker, C. W. McClendon, Dan Kent, Scott Watkins, Gregory Platt and Dean Hollingsworth. Mrs. Jamison was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Streetman to O. W. and Dora Knight. She had two younger sisters, Lillian and Olean, both deceased. Her husband, Allen Jamison, a local farmer, died in 1981. Her great-grandson, Austin Platt in 2000, also preceded her in death. Ola Faye was an amazing woman. She graduated from Powell High School in 1936 and became a hard-working farmer's wife that same year. She raised two children , Sonny Jamison of College Station and Janice Flanagan of Corsicana. She worked in the Navarro County Courthouse from 1960 to 1981. After her husband died, she took over his cattle operation and ran it with great pride until late 2003. She was always in great physical condition. Ola Faye enjoyed working hard and absolutely loved being with her cattle. On Saturdays, she enjoyed dressing up and dancing in Ennis. On Sundays, she attended the Powell Baptist Church. Ola Faye was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and was an active member of the Southwestern Cattle Raiser's Association. She was a member of Powell Baptist Church. Ola Faye is survived by two children, Sonny Jamison and Janice Flanagan; six grandchildren, Rick Jamison, Joni Hollingsworth, Janet Randle, Jeri Watkins, Paul Flanagan and Paula Platt; and 12 great-grandchildren, Jordan Jamison, Kristan Jamison, Tara Hollingsworth, Tifani Hollingsworth, Ashley Randle, Meagan Randle, McKenna Watkins, Caleb Watkins, Cheyan Flanagan, Presley Platt, Alec Platt and Logan Platt.
