Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [This is Mrs. Mollie Ida Jordan Jenkins] Mrs. Mollie I. Jenkins Mrs. Mollie I. Jenkins, wife of J.R. Jenkins of near Downing, died suddenly of heart failure at their home on Monday, January 2, 1928. She had been ill for some two or three weeks, but her death was unexpected. Mrs. Jenkins has not been in good health for more than twenty years. Mollie I. Jenkins was born at Cotton Gin, Freestone county, Feb. 10th, 1862 and was married to J.R. Jenkins on Dec. 21, 1882 being at death 65 years, 10 months and 28 days of age. She was a consistent Christian and a faithful member of the Baptist church for 34 years. The family has resided in Comanche county for the past 17 years. Mrs. Jenkins was the mother of 12 children, four girls and eight boys, two sons, W.B. and E.H. Jenkins being dead. The living sons are E.R. Jenkins, Goldthwaithe; T.H. Jenkins, Fort Worth; C.M. Jenkins, McCamey; C.D. Jenkins, De Leon; F.C. Jenkins, Pueblo, Colo.; R.D. Jenkins, Panhandle and Mrs. E.V. Van Nort, Ballinger; Mrs. Joe Hulsey, Comanche; Mrs. J.M. Holdridge, De Leon; and Miss Ruth Jenkins, of Comanche. All her children, except the son of Pueblo Colo., were present at the funeral services. J.R. Jenkins, the husband and father also survives. Other relatives left to mourn the loss of this good woman are three brothers, D.M.; J.M.; and Reuben Jordan and one sister, Mrs. C.C. Chancellor. The funeral services were held at the First Baptist church in De Leon at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday, January 4, and burial followed at De Leon cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
