Pfc. John H. Oliver
Killed in Belgium

Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Oliver of the Stewards Mill community, were notified by the
War Department that their son, Pfc. John H. Oliver, was killed Sept. 4 in 
Belgium.

John Horace was 25 years old and entered the Armed Service of his country May 
6, 1942, from Houston.  He landed in England Sept. 9th, 1943, and went to 
France, the 17th day of June this year.  He had been driving for and was the
constant companion of Capt. Alvin Erck of Houston who died fom wounds Sept 4,
Capt. Erck was also 25 years old.

Pfc. Oliver attended the Fairfield High School.
