Interment will follow the service at Cotton Gin Cemetery. Cody was born Dec. 7, 1988, in Corsicana. He passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in an automobile accident. He was a senior at Teague High School. Cody is survived by his mother, Stephanie Bivins of Teague; sister, Amber Scott of Denton; brother, Brandon Scott of Corsicana; niece, Lily Lynn Scott of Corsicana; grandmother, Sandra Woods of Corsicana; two aunts, Richelle Chiles and husband Tom of Corsicana and Tonya Adams and husband Ray of Midlothian; numerous cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Woods. ================================================================= Mexia Daily News December 14, 2006 "2 Teague High seniors lose lives in wreck, traffic incident By Bob Wright-Editor Two Teague High seniors and a 2006 graduate of Teague High School, lost their lives in a wreck and another highway mishap during the weekend. The wreck occurred Saturday night - about 3.3 miles west of Teague, and the other in Leon County on Sunday morning at 12:40. ... Johnson, 18, a senior at Teague High School, and Breyonna Nemons, also 18, who was a 2006 graduate of Teague High. Johnson was driving northbound on Farm-to-Market Road 2777 when the 11:53 p.m. tragedy claimed two lives. Trooper Jesse Rogers of Freestone County investigated. Johnson and Nemons were pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Debra Hamilton. Johnson was driving a black 2006 Pontiac G20 when the vehicle swerved to the left across the oncoming lane. According to the investigating Trooper, the car traveled into a rear skid into a ditch, then went backward, striking a tree on the left rear of the Pontiac. The vehicle then spun around, ejecting the driver, then came to rest, facing westward in the ditch. The Trooper also reported that the vehicle appeared to have been traveling with “high speed,” perhaps contributing to the crash. Neither of the deceased was wearing a seatbelt. ..."
