Mexia Daily News - Sep. 17, 2003 edition Tracy Johnson TEAGUE - Funeral services for Tracy Johnson, 31, of Teague, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery near Jewett, under direction of Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson, who died Sunday at his residence, graduated in 1990 from Wortham High School, excelled in sports and qualified for the State Track Meet in the 800-meters and 1600 mile relay. He had a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University. An avid artist, Mr. Johnson completed many sketches and paintings, and was also an accomplished poet. He was employed at the Boyd Unit as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Surviving are his mother, Sharon Hall and husband Danny of Corsicana; his father, Larry Johnson of Teague; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy and Suzanne Johnson of Cedar Park, and Troy and Kristie Johnson of Tyler; his grandmother, Johnnie Johnson of Teague; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
