Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - April 19, 2007 edition CHARLES EDWIN JONES Charles Edwin Jones, of Fairfield, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007, in Dallas, Texas. He was 66 years old. Mr. Jones was born on October 29, 1940, in Silsbee, Texas. He served as President of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce for three terms; Secretary/ Treasurer of the Freestone County Fair for ten years and on the board of directors; Chairman of the Board of Fairfield EMS; Past President of the Fairfield Rotary Club; President of the Freestone Appraisal District Board; Citizen of the Year in 1993; Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 from 1989-1990; Master of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge from 1995-1996; and received an Honorary Chapter FFA Degree in 1997. Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Rev. Mark Woodward and Rev. Wayne Flowers conducted the services and interment was at Fairfield Cemetery. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Ellen Jones of Fairfield, his daughters Kelly Jones of Arlington, Texas and Amanda Jones of Fairfield, Texas, his son Ken Keith and wife Shelly of Kansas City, Missouri and his grandchildren Alexis Jones, Nic Jones and Palmer Keith. Pallbearers for Mr. Jones were Kenny Bulger, Sid Fryer, Bill Beene, Reed Jackson, George Robinson, Larry Graves, Jimmy Lee, Ken Stevens, James Gunter, and John Miller. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Capital Building Fund. Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield was in charge of the arrangements.
