Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder May 13, 2010 edition Lola Pearl Jones Funeral services for Mrs. Lola Pearl Jones, 82, were held Wednesday, May 12, at Bowers Funeral Home. Jimmy Petty officiated. Interment followed at Driver Cemetery near Teague. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Jones passed away May 10 at Teague Nursing Home. She was born in Grapeland, but lived almost all of her life in Teague. Mrs. Jones loved rodeo and competed in barrel racing for several years. She worked for the McGee Nursing Home for several years before working as a charge nurse for the Mexia State School for more than 10 years. Mrs. Jones enjoyed raising doves and growing roses and other flowers in her spare time. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague. She is survived by two sons, Roger Jones and wife Beverly, and Ronnie (Buck) Jones and wife Sonja, all of Teague; stepson Marvin Blake Jones and wife Deborah of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Five grandchildren, Brad Jones of Arlington, Russell Jones and wife Wendy of Teague, Jeremy Jones of California, Vicki Moon and husband Craig of Broken Arrow, OK, and Anneka Beard and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, OK; Six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Fox of Teague and Jessie Fox of Oakwood; one sister, Rosie Thatcher of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Jones; her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Bessie Fox; brother, Henry Fox; and three sisters, Lorene Whitaker, Irene Whitaker, and Annie May Squires.
