Freestone County, Texas Obituaries ( Oct. 24, 1925- Apr. 18, 2002) The Fairfield Recorder - Thursday, May 16, 2002 Jack Kenneth Jordan Services were conducted on Monday, April 22, 2002 for Jack Kenneth Jordan, 76, of Fairfield, who died at ETMC-Fairfield on Thursday, April 18, 2002. Graveside service was held at Fairfield Cemetery with the Most Reverend Monsignor Samuel Metzger officiating. Mr. Jordan was born in Dallas on October 24, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, including during the Korean War. A retired merchant seaman, Mr. Jordan was a member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Jordan lived in Fairfield for 30 years. He was a Catholic. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert Condus Jordan and Johnie Loy Beford. He is survived by his wife Christine Burton Jordan, and three step-sons, Ronnie Lee Jordan, Jenny Lynn Jordan and Monty Ray Jordan of Dallas; one sister Gloria June Stewart of Galveston; and four grandchildren. He was born Oct. 23, 1925 in Dallas to Hobert Condus Jordan and Johnnie Loys Bedford. Mr. Jordan was a retired Merchant seaman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans chapters. He was Catholic. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Christine Burton; sons, Ronnie Lee Jordan, Jere Lynn Jordan and Monty Ray Jordan, all of Dallas; sister, Gloria June Stewart of Galveston; and four grandchildren.
