P. Robinson died very suddenly at his home in Fairfield Friday at 11:00 o'clock am. The remains were interred at Fairfield cemetery at 4:00 pm. The funeral service being conducted by Rev. W. B. S. Robinson, Palestine, Anderson Co., TX on Dec 8, 1918): "JAMES PRESSLY ROBINSON James Pressly Robinson, son of Jas. and Elizah Robinson, was born in Wilcox, Alabama, on March 12, 1851. When a mere boy he removed with his parents to Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas. His primary education was obtained in such schools as were provided in the western country in those early days. In the early part of 1870, he entered as a student, Erskine College, at Due West, South Carolina. Here he remained and actively pursued his studies for two and a half years. Two years of this time he and the writer were very intimately associated, being roommates and bed fellows. During the whole of this period our association was very intimate and pleasant. He was always of a congenial and affable disposition, and was universally liked by the entire stufent body. College life is always very trying on the morals of a young man away from home; but, by the grace of God, he was enabled to sustain an enviable reputation, honored and respected by all who knew him. At the close of the term in 1872 he returned to his far away home, and on November 16, 1874, was very happily married to Miss Fannie McCracken.
