LIBERAL, Kan. - Irene Kees, 97, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999.
   
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Miller Mortuary Chapel with the Rev.
Keith Bryant officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Lane
Memorial Cemetery at Sunray, Texas.
   
Mrs. Kees was born in the Dew community of Freestone County, Texas. She had
lived in Dallas until 1944, when she moved to Sunray, Texas. She had lived in
Liberal since 1991. She worked as a nanny, a nurse and a cook for many years.
She was a member of the Sunray Baptist Church of Sunray.
   
She married Johnny M. Kees in 1920 at Waxahachie, Texas. He died in 1964.
   
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Kees of Liberal; a sister, Vera Teabeaux of
Bryan, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a
great-greatgranddaughter.
   
The family requests memorials be to the Liberal Good Samaritan Center c/o the
Miller Mortuary. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of service today at
the mortuary.
