Twenty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive. Mr. KELLEY was a kind and affectionate husband and father and an most excellent citizen. He was ever plesant and courtious and his life was lived quietly and unobtrusively. He had many friends. I never heard him speak ill of any one, neither did I ever hear any man, woman or child speak ill of Joe KELLEY. The great crowd that stood with uncovered heads of his grave was mute evidence that his passing brought sorrow to many. He was converted when about 18 years of age and united with the Methodist Church and he lived and died in that faith which takes hold on eternity, that sees beyond a cloudless sphere and a beautiful home prepared for the children of god. Sweet be the rest of our friend unbroken his peace and everlasting his joy in the undimed light of a happier world than this and bye and bye in the fullness of time may he again meet those he loved while here.
