(Submitted by Mike Pruitt on 16 May 2006) Mexia Daily News Obituary Notice dated March 10, 1987: [Death date: Mar 07, 1987] Lula Mae (Black) Kelly Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Mae (Black) Kelly, 82, of Teague were held today at 2 at Ricks Funeral Chapel in Teague with the Rev. Bob Sullivan officiating. Members of Mrs. Kelly's Rebekah Lodge conducted graveside rites in Greenwood Cemetery following the funeral. Mrs. Kelly died Saturday at her residence. She was born Feb. 25, 1905 in Tehuacana, and had lived in Teague for the past 15 years. She was a retired department store clerk. She was a member of Teague Assembly of God Church. Survivors include three brothers, Lee Black and Dan Black, both of Mexia, and Elijah Black of Tehuacana; and two sisters, Susie McDonald of Shiloh and Irene Ellis of Teague. Pallbearers were Dale Welch, Gene House, Jay Fain Bodine, Robert Harris, Travis McAlpine and Joe Ed Nanny.
