Freestone County, Texas Obituary Fairfield Recorder - Thursday August 24, 2006 edition Mary J. (Martin) Key Funeral services were held Tuesday in Freestone for Mary J. Key, 86, of Fort Worth who died Friday, August 18 in Fort Worth. Mrs. Key was born in Donie to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Martin, attended school in Donie, married Earl Key and moved to Fort Worth, where she lived most of her life. She worked for Stripling’s Department Store in Fort Worth for almost 35 years, then moved to Tyler and worked for Tyler Junior College as a dorm mother for a number of years before retiring back to Fort Worth. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. at the chapel at Union Cemetery, with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery. Mrs. Key is survived by two sons, Jerrell Key and wife Carol, and Billy C. Key, all of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Doug Key of Fort Worth, Shawn Key of Colorado, Robin Key of Mesquite, Robert Key of Fort Worth and Azura Key of Fort Worth; Six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Tom Martin of Reisel; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bradley Key, and a son, Bradley Ray Key. Arrangements were made by Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
