Services will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Michael K. Haynes and Brother Mack Roller officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Lyles, Dr. John Morgan, Leslie Tate, Glynn Harris, Jerry Robinson, Bobby Gregory, Steve Nettle and Fred Nettle. Honorary pallbearers will be Mens No. 1 Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Bette was born Wednesday, May 11, 1932, in Stewards Mill. Bette married Joe Lee Kirgan Jr. in June 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ellen Nettle; and brother, Charles Nettle and wife Mozelle. Survivors include her husband, Joe Lee Kirgan Jr.; children, Joe “Lee” Kirgan III and wife Susie of Dickinson, Kay Watkins and husband Jerry of Corsicana, and Jeff Kirgan and wife Monica of Teague; grandchildren, Angie Vance and husband Clay, Jody Kirgan, Matt Kirgan, Ashley Watkins and Lane Watkins; great-grandchildren, Brady and Lindsey Vance; and brother, Jasper Nettle and wife Alma Lynn. The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Library, Fairfield, TX.
