DIES AT CORSICANA Funeral of Lawyer and Mason Will Be Held This Morning Corsicana, Texas, April 16 - Carter Kirvin Jr. died Wednesday night, April 2nd at his home in this city. The funeral will take place from his residence tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. He was born at Fairfield, Sept. 3, 1876, and attended school at Fairfield and at Austin College, Sherman. He came to Corsicana in his youth and for about two years was District Clerk by appointment. He also served as Deputy County Clerk and for a while was bookkeeper for a wholesale firm. While performing official duties he read law and was admitted to practice. Six years ago he managed Judge C. K. Bell's campaign in that gentleman's candiacy for Governor. The strenuous duties that fell upon him caused his health to give away and under the advice of the physician whom he consulted in New York he abandoned his law practice for a life of comparative inactivity. He was married to Miss Irene Bradley of Freestone County in June 1898, who, with three children, Carter, age 13; Bessie, 11, and George, 8, survives him. He was a son of Judge O. C. Kirven, chairman of the Board of Pardon Advisors. Judge Kirven, wife and daughter arrived this morning from Austin. Mr. Kirven was past exalted ruler of the lodge of Elks, and was also past district deputy of the grand lodge of Elks. He was high up in Masonery, was an Odd Fellow and Knight of Pythias. The pallbearers are: Active, Robert Johnson, J.C. Cunningham, C.P. Pinkston, Lawson Coulson, A.H. Berry, Arthur Elliott, W. M. Peck and Rufus Caldwell; honorary, S.A. Pace, J.E. Whiteselle, R.E.
