Knight, Sr. (February 4, 1927 - March 3, 2012) Funeral services for Richard Lee Knight were held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 11:00a.m. at the Chapel at Antioch Cemetery in Luna. Interment followed the services at Antioch Cemetery. Mr. Knight passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Anniston, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army for twenty years, reaching retirement. Mr. Knight was an accomplished horseman and was used extensively in Civil War reenactments including the 1982 movie, “Rebel Walls” and the TV mini-series “North and South”. He participated in numerous Civil War reenactment events with the 51st Alabama Cavalry Regiment Partisan Rangers. Mr. Knight was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two sons, Tony Wayne Tankersley of Austin and Richard Lee Knight, Jr. of Anniston, Alabama; two sisters, Lena Newman and Modene Thornton both of Fairfield; one brother, Haynie Knight of Bend, Oregon; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seventeen nieces and nephews. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Moody Knight; one daughter, Angela Knight Probe; his parents, Jack & Ella Knight; one sister, Lorene Walton; and three brothers, Weldon Knight, Wiley Knight, and Brice Knight.
