The Fairfield Recorder - March 12, 1897 issue

Died-Mrs. Gus Koonce died on Monday evening, March 1st, 1897 and was interred 
the day following in the Hill graveyard. Mrs. Koonce had been suffering for 
several weeks with dropsy, gradually growing worse before she died as above 
stated. The Recorder extends sympathy to the sorrowing husband in hopes that he 
may receive comfort from Him who alone can give peace to life's dark hours of 
grief.
