Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - 15 Apr 2010 issue SCOTT KORN Funeral services for Mr. Scott Korn were held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. Dale McDaniel and Betsy Sweetland officiated and interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Scott was born in San Antonio and lived in Waxahachie, Kerns, Teague and, for the past several years, in Hewitt. He graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1990. Scott received his Bachelors degree in Business from Tarleton and was currently working on getting his Masters degree. He was employed by Brazos Children Center as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant and loved his job and his patients - they were his life. He served with the 25th Street Head Start, Waco Head Start, and Moody Head Start. Scott loved sports, especially following the Texas Longhorns and enjoyed playing fantasy football and managing his league. He loved to travel, especially with his fiancé and was to be married in Falkenstein Castle in Burnett, Texas on June 26th of this year. Mr. Korn passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2010, in an automobile accident in rural McLennan County. Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cecil Murray and his paternal grandmother Virgie Dannelley. Mr. Korn is survived by his fiancé, Kristen Watts; his daughter Laynie Korn and his step daughter Hannah Watts of Hewitt; his parents Charles and Carolyn Korn of Teague; his sister Amy Curlett and husband Michael of Teague; his niece Makayla Curlett; his nephew Logan Curlett; his uncles Dean Murray and wife Wilene of Arlington and Larry Murray and wife Sue of Purdon; as well as numerous cousins and many friends.
