Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper November 27, 2008 Barbara Ellen (Lemon) Kuehl Memorial services were held Friday for Barbara Ellen Kuehl, 76, of Mexia who died Tuesday, Nov. 18. Mrs. Kuehl was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on Dec. 23, 1931, but was raised in LaPorte. She spent her time gardening, sewing, canning, and baking cookies. Before moving to Teague, Mrs. Kuehl and her family would go camping and fishing during the summer. She was proud of her Creek Indian heritage and was a thoughtful person with a warm smile. Services were held last Friday for friends and family. Mrs. Kuehl's body was cremated. She is survived by her children, Paula White and husband Doug of Katy, Doyle Kuehl, Jr. and wife Debbie of Lampasas, Teri Kuehl of Teague, Steven Kuehl of Anahuac, and Molly Kuehl of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; brothers, Evan Lemon and wife Sue, Buddy Lemon and wife Linda, and Jerry Lemon; and sister, Linda Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Doyle Kuehl.
