Lake, 86, Dies At Mineral Wells" MINERAL WELLS, Texas, Feb. 26. - S. J. Lake, 86, last Mineral Wells member of Stonewall Jackson Camp of Confederate Veterans died here Monday. He was the third member of the camp to pass away in the last fourteen months. Only one living member of the post remains, Frank M. Bailey, of Oran, 93. The veteran Lake was a native of South Carolina but came to Texas in mere boyhood, settling near Fairfield in Freestone County where for years he ranched and operated a gin. In his army service he was a member of Company 1 Walker's Division. He was 18 years old when the war closed. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Mary Lake of Mineral Wells, returned foreign missionary of the Baptist church; Miss Mattie Lake, teacher in the Mineral Wells schools; two sons, T. W. LAke, in the local mall service, and P. S. Lake of Greenville, and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Davis, Dallas, and Mrs. Billie Watson, Fairfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the First Baptist Church here."
