Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Corsicana Daily Sun - Aug 5, 1935 issue FREESTONE COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH SLAYING BROTHER LeRoy Lamb Dead And Webb Lamb Held In Jail At Fairfield After Killing FAIRFIELD - Aug 5. - Webb Lamb, 25, is in the Freestone county jail under a formal charge of murder in connection with the death of his brother, LeRoy, 32, at the home of his parents eight miles northeast of Wortham about 7:30 Sunday morning. Examining trial has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Jim Sessions, reported Monday. The Elder Lamb boy was fatally wounded by a charge from a .12 gauge shotgun that struck him near the heart, he living about five minutes, officers reported. The shooting occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Lamb, parents of the boys. No reason was given for the shooting. Freestone county officials could not say what action would be taken following the hearing since there will be no grand jury in session at Fairfield until November. They intimated it was not likely that a special jury would be called. The deceased is survived by his parents, a widow and one small child, and three brothers, Bert, Homer, and Webb Lamb. Funeral services were planned for 4 o'clock Monday afternoon with interment at Old Cade cemetery. Oliver Burleson of Wortham directed the funeral arrangements.
