San Angelo Standard Times-Online newspaper - 7/11/2000 edition ERNEST S. LAMPIER Ernest S. Lampier, 77, of San Angelo died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Shannon Medical Center. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m Wednesday July 12, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Paul Terry officiating. Johnson's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ernest was born Dec. 17, 1922, to Cornelius and Sally Lampier in Dew, Texas. He married Betty Hunt on Sept. 5, 1945, in Rankin. He had been a resident of San Angelo since 1941 and was a member of the Methodist Church. Ernest served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a superintendent for Reece Albert Construction, retiring in 1986 after 42 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lampier; three sons, Jimmy Lampier and wife, Carol of Idalou, Mickey Lampier and wife, Darlene, of San Angelo, Donnie Lampier and wife, Gail, of Fort Stockton; six grandchildren, Melanie Holt and husband, Toby, of San Angelo, Kim Lindley of Denver, James Lampier of Dallas, Justin Lampier of San Angelo, Cressie and Lori Beth Stroud, both of San Angelo; two sisters, Barbara York of San Angelo and Lois Lancaster of Dew; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
