ASTOL THOMAS LANCASTER

Graveside services for Astol Thomas Lancaster, 94, will be held at 2 p.m., 
Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague with Rev. Jeff 
Powers officiating.

Astol was born June 22, 1915 in Dew, Texas, to Arthur Thomas and Annie Johnson
Lancaster. He was a proud member of the 1935 Graduating Class of Teague High 
School. He married Doris Margaret Lancaster on August 29, 1937; they were 
married for 70 years. Astol retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad 
after 33 years of service. He was a Conductor. He was a longtime member of 
the First United Methodist Church of Teague and was also a member of the 
Boggy Lodge #739. He passed away October 26, 2009 in Teague.

Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers; 
and two sisters.

Astol is survived by two sons, Terry Lancaster of Teague and Bob Lancaster
and wife, Barbara of Glen Rose; two daughters, Penny Carpenter and husband, 
Don of Teague and Jill Harryman and husband, Jimmy of Groesbeck; 10 
grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
