Mary Lee (Scruggs) Lander

Funeral services were held last week for Mary Lee Lander, 86, of Ennis who died
Tuesday, March 4, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.

Mrs. Lander was born on Jan. 6, 1922.

She had been a resident of Fairview Healthcare in Fairfield for the last five
years and was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, at Antioch Baptist Church 
with Ed Ridge officiating.

Burial was at Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. Lander is survived by brothers Clarence Scruggs and wife Frieda of 
Fairfield, Carter Scruggs and wife Velma of Farmington, New Mexico, Billy 
Newman Scruggs and wife Doris of Fairfield, and Clinton Scruggs and wife Molly
of Teague; and sisters Lizzie Crouch of Corsicana, Jewel Morris of Fairfield,
Ellen Gunter and husband Cullen of Fairfield, Fay Ward and husband Frank of 
Fairfield, Grace Pannell of Garland, and Sarah Poteet of Gainsville.

She is preceded in death by husband Henry Lander and parents John Carter and 
Sarah Scruggs.
