Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Obituary for Viola Mae (Butcher) Latham: VIOLA LATHAM Funeral services were held Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague for Viola Latham, 77, who died Wednesday, Nov. 24 at her residence in Wortham surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Latham was born in Dallas on February 15, 1933 to William Marvin Butcher and Mary Jane Kelly Butcher, and raised in Freestone County. She was one twin out of 13 children. Mrs. Latham and her husband Ellis were married on March 10, 1951 and had 6 children together. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kirvin, loved to play dominos and 42, was a member of Sew ‘n’ Sew and a grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Latham is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Fikac and husband Roy of Round Rock, Mary Pennington and husband Anthony of Albuquerque, NM, Peggy Lane and Jack Cook of Teague, Betty Allen and husband Doug of Streetman and Melanie Sisco & husband Don of Huntsville; Son, David Latham and wife LaNell of Tatum; sisters, Doris Webb of Teague and Nettie Ann Latham of Buffalo; brothers, Marvin Butcher and wife Wanda of Porter and Henry Butcher of Humble; 14 grandkids and 14 great-grandkids; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Angela Latham; parents; as well as five sisters and two brothers. Service was officiated by Roy Fikac, Anthony Pennington, Drew Allen and Jason Lasher. Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
