Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Pat Latham Graveside services for Pat Latham, 54, were held on Friday, December 30, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Cemetery near Freestone. Rev. Jeffrey W. King of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn, TX officiated. Pat was born in Teague on March 17, 1957 and grew up in Teague and the surrounding area. Mr. Latham lived in Brenham for several years then returned to Teague and had recently moved back to Brenham to be near his daughter and grandchildren. Mr. Latham served in the National Guard for twelve years from 1978 to 1990. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and drove a maintainer for Washington County for several years. Pat enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends, but his favorite pastime was playing with his grandchildren whom he considered to be his pride and joy. Mr. Latham was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mr. Latham passed away from complications from Leukemia on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham. Mr. Latham was preceded in death by his father, Ed Latham and one brother, Billy Jack Latham. He is survived by one daughter, Leslie Maya and husband Arturo and three grandchildren, Alexis Maya, Kayla Maya, and Marc Maya, all of Brenham; his mother, Nettie Latham of Buffalo; three brothers, Jimmy Latham and wife Carolyn of Dallas, Robert Latham and wife Margaret of Donie, and Joe Latham and wife June of McGregor; four sisters, Wenonah Ward & husband Powell (Butch) of Flo, Glenda Alford of Teague, Carolyn Brimhall and husband Karl of Buffalo, and Brenda Sue Armstrong and husband Craig of Benchley; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bowers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
