Freestone County, Texas Obits Corsicana Daily Sun - Jan 19, 2007 Rubye Lee Rubye Lee, born Oct. 24, 1910, was the daughter of Carl and Willie Cam Clark of Streetman. She passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee; her parents; her sisters, Bernice Howell and Ora Mae Webb; her nephew, Max Webb; and niece, Carolyn Grubbs. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lynn and Bill Luther and Peggy and Larry Smith; grandsons and their wives, Brad and Grazyna Smith, Byron and Gena Smith, Steve and Libby Luther, Stan Smith and his fiancee Dina Phillips; four great-grandchildren, Judson and Allison Luther and Lauren and Alexandra Smith; and two nephews and their wives, Hulen and Dorothy Howell and Dr. Jerry and Joan Webb. Rubye loved her God, her church, her family and teaching. She taught fourth grade at Travis Elementary until she retired and was a longtime member of A.D.K., a teacher’s sorority. She also taught Sunday school and training union at First Baptist Church. She traveled with the Best Yet Club and was a member of the Solid Rockers senior choir. She was still a faithful church member until she broke her hip at age 93. She lived her beliefs and blessed all who knew her. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Birdston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Floyd, Don Harvey, Judson Luther, Steve Luther, Billy Hoyt Moore and Stan Smith.
