Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Carl Edward Lee, Jr. Visitation for Carl Edward Lee, Jr., 56, will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013, with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Mr. Lee will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Lee passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Freeport, TX. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 4, 1956, and moved to Houston just nine days later. He grew up in LaPorte, and spent most of his life in that area. Mr. Lee was an expert welder and his skills were used by NASA where he helped build the 1st underwater space station. He was injured on the job and became disabled, but was still able to work and enjoyed being able to spend time with his family. Mr. Lee was a true "people person" and never met a stranger. He is survived by two sons, George Lee of Freeport and Shane Lee of Oyster Creek; three daughters, Amanda Prejeant of Livingston, Melissa Lee and Monica Lee both of Teague; ten grandchildren, Wyatt, Samantha, Troy, Jordan, Madelynn, Georja, Brandon, Mercedes, Chloe, and Ty; mother, Dorothy Mixon-Applegate & husband Leroy of Teague; two sisters, Kimberly Ethridge and Cynthia Lee both of Teague, one nephew, Jessie Lozano of LaPorte; one niece, Jennifer Lozano of LaPorte; his former spouse, Tammy Marsden and her children: Stephen, Patricia, Christina, Angel, DaNieta, Cowboy, and Amanda; nineteen step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Carl Edward Lee, Sr. and one step-brother, Charles Mixon. Bowers Funeral Home of Teague, Texas conducted funeral arrangements.
