Jan. 9, 1968) Mexia Daily News - Friday, January 18, 1963 - Page 1 Arthur Levingston Funeral Services Scheduled Sunday Funeral services will be held at the Grove Island A. M. E. Church in the Grove Island community of Freestone County Sunday at l p.m. for Arthur Levingston, 51, who died on Rt. 3, Mexia, Tuesday. The services will be conducted by the Rev. E. J. Jones and burial will be in the Grove Island cemetery with the Dorsey-Keatts Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Levingston was born in Limestone County on Jan. 4 917, and had lived in the county a1l of his life. His home was at 204 Pine Street in Mexia. He was a carpenter, a Methodist, and a member of Paul Lawrence Dunbar Lodge No. 69 F. and A.M. in Mexia. He was a Steward's Mate First Class in the U. S. Navy in World War II. Besides his wife, Mrs. Clara Mae Levingston, of Mexia, he is survived by five brothers. R. J. and Henry Levingston Jr. both of Mexia; Rev. Wayne Levingston, of Fort Worth; Walter Levingston, of Dallas and Willie J. Levingston, of Odessa, and three sisters, Mrs. Luvenia Morris and Mrs. Murldean Smith, both of Grand Prairie, and Mrs. Annie Lee Curry of Odessa. Also surviving are two aunts, Mrs. Mattie D. Parmes, of Rt. 8, Mexia, and Mrs. Eula Mae Launza of Mexia.
