Oma Lee (Sawyers) Lewis

Oma Lee Lewis, resident of Corsicana and formerly of Streetman, passed away on 
Thursday morning May 8, 2014 at Heritage Oaks West at the age of 81. She was 
born April 24, 1933 in Streetman to Noel and Lula Sawyers. She was a member of 
Westside Baptist Church. Oma enjoyed doing needle work, painting and playing 42. 
In her younger years she loved playing baseball and played on a womens team in 
Streetman. She also loved to cook for people.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon Lewis in 1989; parents Noel and 
Lula Sawyers; brothers Alton Sawyers and Lester Sawyers; sister Louise Pickens.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Carolyn Lewis, 
Ronnie and Ronda Lewis all of Corsicana; grandchildren, John Carroll and wife 
Charity of Springtown, Melissa Owen and Ronny Bearden of Corsicana, Wes Lewis 
and wife Sara of Corsicana; great-grandchildren, Daylan Hollingsworth, Ashton 
Hollingsworth, Kaytlyn Carroll, Jackson Embers, Nathan Embers, Codie Bearden, 
JoJo Bearden, Trinity Loryn Carroll, James Bearden, Caroline Lewis; and great-
great-granddaughter Brentleigh Hollingsworth. She is also survived by her sister, 
Mamie Jo Roberts of Teague.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral 
Home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral 
Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Talbert officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elmo 
Cemetery in Winkler.
