Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle Dec. 24, 2009 issue CLIFFORD WHALEN LIGHT Graveside memorial services for Clifford Whalen Light, 65, of Fairfield will be announced at a later date. Clifford was born on May 19, 1944, in Clifton, Texas to parents William Alonzo Light from Hill County, Texas and Willie Mahalia Lovett Light from Lalic in Milam County, Texas. He was the youngest child in a large family He worked as a ranch hand when he was young. He also helped Bob Harvey and family breed and raise racehorses, many of which are in the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Later in life he worked construction and pipeline jobs. He worked in Andrews County and broke horses most of his life. Horses were his real passion and he was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association for over 30 years. He passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at his residence. Survivors include his wife Carla; his children Rickey, Jeannye and Kristi, all of the Hico, Texas area; an adopted son, Charlie of Fairfield; six granddaughters and three grandsons; a special young couple Michael and Taylor Boyd who he cared for deeply and thought of as children and wished to honor.
