Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Submitted by Billie Bournias [Unknown Newspaper] LITTLEPAGE - Mrs. Josephine D. Littlepage, wife of Rev. S. C. Littlepage, of Chappell Hill, died at the parsonage June 12, 1882, in the presence of her husband, mother and fondly-devoted children. A sweeter life ne'er went out in death, and a lovelier spirit never entered heaven. Sister Littlepage was born in Decatur, Ala., June 11, 1841, and was the daughter of W. R. and N. R. Davis, who moved to Texas in 1851, and settled in Freestone county. The subject of this notice professed religion and united with the M. E. Church, South, in her sixteenth year, and on the 6th of February, 1862, she was married to Rev. S. C. Littlepage. She has left alone, to God and the church, a weeping husband and seven sorrowful orphans. It was beautiful to see the care that those noble men and women at Chappell Hill took to see the burden should fall as lightly as possible upon the afflicted and bereaved ones. May God reward them. And so he will. The life of Sister Littlepage has been one of toll and suffering. To any mother with such a family it is so in these years. But the life of an itinerant minister's wife only she and one other knows. She had many kind friends. All who knew her loved her. But forgetfulness or negligence often crush the sensitive heart. Sister Littlepage died as she lived, in sight of heaven. - F. T. MITCHELL
