Fairfield Recorder - Friday, September 3, 1926 TWO NEGROS KILLED SATURDAY NIGHT Two negros, E. J. Livingston and Nathaniel Moffett were killed Saturday night at a supper at Woods Chapel, a negro church about nine miles from Fairfield, on the Fairfield Kirven road. Livingston was killed about 25 steps from the church. A charge of shot from a shot gun striking him in the breast. Moffett was killed about 125 yards from the church. Three rifle bullets piercing his breast. John Jefferson and Price Jefferson, brothers, and Elijah Busby, all negros, were arrested. Examining trial was held here Wednesday before Justice Vaughn who placed the Jeffersons' bail at $5000 each and Busbys' at $2500.
