Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Lynnie Wayne Long Lynnie Wayne Long, 47 of Rockwall, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was the oldest son of Columbus and June Long. Lynnie spent his childhood in Dew and graduated from Teague High School in 1984. After graduation Lynnie entered the Marine Corps via Camp Pendleton in service to his country. After discharge, he began a career in the construction industry. He used his many talents to work his way up thru the ranks of companies such as HL&P, Henderson, Hollman Boiler Company and Koch Field Services and came to be one of the most trusted and respected construction managers within the business. Using this experience, Lynnie later pursued his goal of owning his own company and started National Petroleum and Energy Services for which he served as President and owner and ran successfully for a number of years. Most recently he was co-owner and President of Global Energy Contractors. Thru his career, Lynnie was very widely traveled and oversaw projects throughout the United States and many foreign countries as well. He also traveled the world to pursue his passion of big game hunting and sport fishing which was an important part of his life. Lynnie was a member of Masonic Lodge East Trinity #157 of Rockwall, and was a Master Mason with Lifetime Endowed Membership. He was also a member of Lake Pointe Baptist Church in Rockwall. Lynnie is survived by his parents, Columbus and June Long of Fairfield, Brothers Jaime Long and wife Rhonda and children of Kirvin, Jason Long and wife Kayse and children of Dew, as well as his best friend and wife of 15 years Lisa Powell Long with whom he shared the greatest source of pride and accomplishment in his life, his two beloved sons William and Stephen Long of Rockwall. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 4:30 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Todd Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Winters Cemetery, CottonWood Terrace Fairfield. Pallbearers will be George Robinson, Scott Hollister, Tom Rose, Ricky Hargrove, Timm Lucher, Dennis Hudson, Jeff Gonzales, Lloyd Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaime Long, Jason Long, Roger Steward, Bo Hagen. Arrangements by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Fairfield.
