Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Ronnie Jim Looney Ronnie Jim Looney, 69, of Wortham, passed away on January 24, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wortham with Reverend Jarod Rogers officiating. Interment followed at Wortham Cemetery. Family visitation was Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Porter Chapel in Wortham. Mr. Looney was born on May 8, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas to Joe W. Looney Sr. & Callie Clora Fenley Looney. He spent many years with Chevron as a welder, then a pipeline inspector. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha Looney, parents and brothers and sister, Joe Looney, Jr., Linda Looney, Tommy Looney and Martha Byrd. Survivors include his wife, Valarie Ann Looney of Wortham; son, Jeff Looney & wife, Kathleen of Teague; daughter, Rhonda Ellen Looney of Wortham; son, Dion Looney & wife, Dena of Wortham; sister, Alice Joyce Waldy of Tyler; grandchildren, Jordan Thomas Looney, Sarah Brooke Lane & husband, Austin, Renee Elizabeth Looney, Marlly “Katie” Looney, Blake Darien Looney and Dylan Daniel Looney; great grandchildren, Luke Rhyder Lane and Lilly Isabella Lane; four step children; Angela Durant & husband, Richard, Gregory McCafferty, Jr. Lisa Wenninger & husband, Steve and Katrina Harris & husband, Justin, seven step great-grandchildren, Brandon Durant, Hailey McCafferty, Emma Wenninger, Lexi McCafferty, Abby Wenninger, Trey McCafferty, Malerie Harris; brothers-in-law, Leonard Jones, Mike Jones and sister-in-law, Shirlene Robinnette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers were Glen Davis, Darrel Ridge, Jim Bailey, Russ Cornelson, James Black and Robert May. “I don’t think he will ever realize how important he was to me and how much he molded me into the man I am today.
